First stop is at the prominent Akrotiri village where you’ll visit one of the most important archaeological sites, not only on the island but also in the whole Aegean. Excavations have brought to light a prosperous prehistoric city that had been buried under the volcanic ashes for centuries. During the 1-hour tour you will walk through this well-preserved city, be impressed by its edifices and learn all the impressive facts about it along with your professional tour guide.
After that, you will have a wine tasting experience full of tastes and aromas at three of the most outstanding wineries of the island. At the traditional Megalochori village you’ll visit the first modern winery of Santorini, Boutari Winery, where you can taste five different wines not only from Santorini, but from all over the world. At the same village lies Gavalas Winery where you can take a tour around its cellars and admire its 17th century Russian oak barrels. Next, at Episkopi Gonia village, you’ll try five different wines at a state-of-the-art winery, Estate Argyros. All in all, you will take pleasure in 12 wine varieties of the volcanic island, including the famed Assyrtiko, Vinsanto and Nykteri.
Those who want to take a cooking lesson and have a small introduction to the Greek cuisine can choose the 8-hour tour which includes a visit to Artemis Karamolegos Winery, a modern winery located in Exo Gonia village that offers striking views. Finally, those who wish to spend less time on a tour and are only interested in the wine tasting experience can take a 4-hour tour to Boutari, Gavalas and Estate Argyros wineries and enjoy the different wine varieties accompanied by delectable side dishes.
