We had an amazing experience during the catamaran cruise, it was great to be able to see the red and black beach as well as be able to swim in the hotspring. Food was lovely & the staff were very accommodating!
I have to say, this was the most disappointing part of my trip... The captain treated all the people in the boat like children, and was frankly quite rude. It was like being on a tourist bus. Get on, get to one stop, get to the next stop, go home. It just wasn’t very relaxed, and seemed like the crew didn’t want to be there. Yes it was beautiful, it’s Greece of course it’s beautiful, but it’s just wasn’t anything special. I think had the crew been better, the whole experience would Have been different.
We do thank you for your honest and constructive feedback. We have addressed this to our captain and crew, so we can improve. Related to the strict schedule of the trip, maybe a private customizable tour would better fit your expectations. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope to see you again in the future on one of our cruises.
We took the tour and were on time picked up by the bus. That was really great service - we collected some other guests and were then brought to the port. This took us about 1,5 hours, but that is totally up to where the guests stay on Santorini. During the sailing cruise (they never set sail, it is solely a motor cruise) the service was good, food (Greek salad, Tzatziki, chicken steaks, spaghetti with tomato sauce, wine leaves and rice, bread), drinks and wine were enough for everyone. Our glasses never were empty for long. However parts of the crew were not really enthusiastic about the sights (except for Pablo, who was our highlight) and now we can understand why. Some but not much background info was provided to what one could see when passing the dights. But mostly it was just half hearted - "here you can see this and that, don't have too many expectations, let's head on to the next sight...". Not what we are used to when having a local guide anywhere. That needs improvement because if the guide is not enthusiastic, how can the guests be? The red beach swimming was also disappointing as we could only go snorkeling behind the boat. There was nothing to see there. Not even rocks. You can see the rest of the sights on the website but believe me - it is not a stunning wow feeling when you see them. Consider the trip as something to enjoy yourselves being at the sea with food and wine. That is really it. The swimming at the hot springs was exciting at first but the hot springs are rather warm springs. Trust me, if you ever are on Iceland or somewhere similar - there you will experience hot springs ;-). Afterwards it was time to head back to the port. We had some good music throughout the trip but wait a minute - what about the sunset? I don't know why but we did not stop to see the sunset or anything. Just rushing back to the port, arriving there 1,5 hours earlier (the trip was supposed to be around 5 hours, do the math). Luckily we had a group of nice people to have fun with, otherwise the our rating would be two stars only. We cannot recommend the tour as is and would not do it again.
Dear David, thank you for sharing your experience. We highly value both your motivational and developmental feedback. Indeed the cruise lasted less than planned, due to a last-minute management decision. We truly apologize for this result. We have shared the feedback with our captain and crew related to their enthusiasm level and sharing information. Related to the proximity/access to the Red Beach and any beach, we are obliged by greek maritime law to set anchor +200m from the shore. We make 3 stops for swimming, lasting +30 minutes each, so you would have plenty of time to swim and walk around. The temperature of water in Santorini is around 20°C. The hot springs of the volcano of Santorini are on average at 35°C, while Iceland's blue lagoon reaches 39°C during summer. Indeed some would experience a warm feeling rather than a hot one. Thank you again for choosing us.
