Fava Eco Suites

This hotel is in a peaceful location away from the Oia crowd in peak season. Every request was accommodated with a smile and all the staff were efficient and friendly and a sumptuous breakfast was delivered at a time that suited us. We stayed on the terrace in a family room with a beautiful outlook and loved the sunsets without the crowds sipping our drinks with a couple of household cats. Three fabulous restaurants close by. This hotel is not for anyone with walking difficulties or wants to be very close to nightlife. We loved the lack of cars and people and the uniqueness of the experience. We stayed at Fava for 5 nights. Our room was very clean and spacious and the receptionist that we dealt with was always polite and helpful. Our breakfast was brought to our room in the morning and it was excellent. The hotel is located on a hill just outside Oia in a quiet location and we enjoyed the 20-minute walk to the centre every day.

This is a good hotel. Their customer service is amazing. The manager gave his whatsapp numbers and responded to all our requests/questions quickly. Romeo is a staff member here, and he is a hard-working gentleman who helped us with our luggage. One of our group members had to leave at 3am to catch a flight. Romeo came to help us at 3am with our bags. Now, if you have never been to this part of Greece, you should know that to get to any hotels, you have to walk through tiny streets with steep slops. Getting your luggage to and from a hotel is a challenge. Romeo was so helpful to us with this task. He also brought our breakfast to our rooms every morning right at the time we requested it. Service staff did a great job servicing our rooms everyday. The location wise, it is not right in the town of Oia and doesn't have a closer view of the water, but it is in walking distance to Oia. Of course, it's priced accordingly.

It is a roller coaster of emotion during our stay in Fava. I wanted to say the host is very nice to us, but hotel itself still fall short. We have stayed at petite suite with private outdoor jetted tub. First, the nearest parking is very small, and it is a hassle to find us a car park since we’re driving. This is not a hotel where it is facing a main road. It is inside a small village so expect a lot ( and a lot) of stairs climbing and walking after u find a car park. Carrying luggages up and down is not the experience I want with 3 star hotels. It really felt more like a fancy AirBnB instead of hotels. When we reached our room, I got to say it’s a pretty room. While it’s not spacious, everything looks wonderful and it’s very Santorini-like themed. There are cutlery provided and we could make simple meal if we wanted to. The outside area is spacious, and it’s a perfect spot to sit down and enjoy conversation with wind breeze. This is definitely a plus point. For the minus points, there are a few. 1.Every time we flushed the toilet, the water pressure is so high that it will splash the seat. 2.For the jetted tub, the warmer seems to be not working properly as the water temperature goes up by very little only, instead of 39/40 degree shown on the tub setting. This is a big disappointment 3.The view isn’t that great really - it is facing some empty space with some waste laying around. There is a walking route near our door/ outdoor area with jacuzzi, so people will come and go and privacy isn’t really the best in this sense. Overall, it really is a disappointment because the room is unique itself, and the host is very friendly too. However, when I pay such hefty amount for a 3 star hotels, I expect everything to be 3 star. On average night basis, I paid for almost 2 or 3 times the price than my stays at other hotels, so that I could experience that luxurious experience, that rewarding treat. And yet I was left disappointing. Would not recommend to anyone. With this price point, this hotel need to be better. And with this price point, there are better options out there for you.
