Discovering the Caldera Cliffs on a unique Horseback Excursion

At our stables, our proficient team is ready to greet you on a magical 2-hour ride and acquaint you with the finest breeds of horses! Prior to setting off on your ride through the stunning Santorini landscape, learn essential safety tips and obtain basic riding skills.

Commencing at the stables located in Megalochori, follow the trails through the customary village towards the Caldera Cliffs. The dramatic cliffside along the volcanic crater, known as the famous Caldera, was shaped by lava and is remarkable for its stunning views and steep cliffs. While riding along the edge of the Caldera, one can observe the ravines and gorges formed by the eruption that took place several millennia ago.

While standing on the clifftop, one can appreciate the breathtaking sunset or the sparkling morning sunlight on the water, as this excursion honors the magnificence of nature. Additionally, the trip includes a visit to an old quarry that was etched into the cliffside, which provides an opportunity to observe the distinct layers of stone that create the island's distinctive geology. During the ride, your instructor-guide will point out remnants of the Minoan civilization that existed on this island over 3500 years ago. When the sun goes down, you can enjoy the alluring sunset over the Caldera from a stunning spot near the famous Heart of Santorini!

In the midst of the ride, photographs will be immortalized of you and your horse at the most noteworthy locations, with the intention of snapping the unforgettable moments of your experience! Our recommendation is to put on pants or leggings that are comfortable and pair them with closed-toed shoes!
