The beauty of Oia is matchless. It is undoubtedly the best place to watch the sunset in Santorini. You can never get tired of watching Palaia and Nea Kameni islets glistening in the clear blue waters as the sun dips into the Aegean Sea. Oia also has the famous Ammoudi port, where you can enjoy freshly cooked seafood.
Restaurants, cafes, bakeries, and wine houses serving delicious food and beverages are scattered throughout the village. There are also plenty of shops to buy stylish clothes, authentic artifacts, and souvenirs from.

A true gem. Amazing service and friendliness. We missed breakfast one day and they brought it to the room! Great location for watching the sunset from the pool and terrace. Only downside at all was the water in the room hot tub wasn’t warm but it was minor and everything else makes up for it.
My dining experience at Fanari was primarily driven by the desire to enjoy the stunning view and sunset. However, I must mention that they reserve the best tables for guests only, which was a bit disappointing as it wasn't communicated during the reservation process. The restaurant is on the expensive side, but you're essentially paying for the exceptional view and sunset. One drawback was that the wine wasn't served at the right temperature, possibly due to the scorching summer weather. We had to wait indoors for almost an hour before we could seat outside. The food itself was average, not exceptional, but the breathtaking sunset made up for it. If you're looking for a memorable sunset experience, Fanari is worth considering despite some minor drawbacks.
I stayed at Fanari villas with my family in June 2023 and absolutely loved it. The rooms are spacious and cozy and well equipped and ours had a marvelous view. It is also set away from the IA town center about a 10 minute walk which we liked. We had a most memorable lobster meal at the hotel restaurant with a great view as well. The service was warm and friendly and will make us look back on our time in Santorini with joy.
Highly unfriendly to kids, aggressive unprofessional owner who hovers around and makes guests uncomfortable and average, overpriced food We were surprised this restaurant with really nice sunset views was half empty during prime sunset time but now understand why. There is a 50 EUR per person minimum that excludes alcohol and the food is very mediocre - seafood all tasted frozen/not fresh (which to be fair they do state on their menu their food is ‘fresh frozen’) We had a baby in our party who accidentally broke a lamp on our table, the owner who had been sitting next to us and staring the whole time, completely lost it and started yelling and made a 1 year old cry. He demanded we pay 200 EUR for the lamp or he would call the police, was verbally aggressive and borderline physically aggressive. The father of the baby left while we dealt with the broken lamp and the owner demanded he come back, when we said he had to put the baby to sleep he replied that he “did not give a **** about the baby” Super sad since the waitstaff at the restaurant was lovely - super professional and very child friendly. Despite the average, overpriced food we were happy with the experience because of the friendly servers. Left with a crying child, the owner screaming about arresting us, and a terrible hospitality experience over a lamp you could buy for $15 on Amazon
