This 6-hour Private Cooking class and Wine-tasting tour begins with a first visit to a volcanic vineyard and winery. There, you will get to witness the unique basket vines, get useful insights about the local viticulture, and how the volcanic soil creates the perfect environment for the grapes to grow healthily, giving a distinct taste to Santorini's wines.
Next, follows a visit to another traditional winery, where you will learn about the wine-making process, from the experts themselves. The wineries' knowledgeable guides will also educate you about the unique cultivation methods that are followed in Santorini, such as the basket vines, which have been used over the years. During your visit to the wineries, you will have the opportunity to sample eight different types of wine, including the island's famous Assyrtiko, and Vinsanto.
Afterwards, you will head to a winery/restaurant, where a local chef will guide you in cooking three Santorini signature dishes using the freshest local ingredients. During your cooking lesson, you will learn about the island's gastronomy, the ingredients used, and the cooking methods that are followed. Not to mention that when the cooking class comes to an end, you will have the chance to savor all your freshly cooked creations, and indulge in more wine-tasting of the winery’s locally produced wines!
